DARCYCO Active provides general fitness information, not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not replace your doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian.
Before you start
During onboarding you can answer a short readiness check based on the PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire). If you answer yes to any question, or if any of these apply, talk to a doctor before starting or changing your training:
- a heart condition, high blood pressure, or chest pain at rest or during activity;
- dizziness, fainting or loss of balance;
- a bone, joint or soft-tissue problem that activity could make worse, or a recent injury or surgery;
- diabetes, asthma or another ongoing condition, or medication that affects exercise;
- pregnancy or having recently given birth;
- a history of, or current, disordered eating.
A yes never blocks the app. It tells DC to choose lower-risk options and reminds you to get advice first.
While you train
- Warm up, start lighter than you think, and build gradually.
- Use good form over more weight. Every exercise has an easier version; use it whenever you are unsure.
- Use a spotter or safety bars for heavy pressing and squatting.
- Stretch to mild tension, never pain. Do not bounce.
- Drink water, and rest when you need to. A suggested rest day is part of the plan.
Stop straight away if you feel
- chest pain, pressure or tightness, or pain spreading to your arm, neck or jaw;
- dizziness, light-headedness, or feeling faint;
- unusual shortness of breath or an irregular heartbeat;
- sharp, sudden or worsening pain in a joint or muscle.
If symptoms are severe or do not settle quickly, call 000. Otherwise, see a doctor before you train again.
Food and body image
Fuel targets are estimates. DC never sets calories below a safe floor, does not recommend supplements or medication, and does not design weight-cutting programs for anyone under 18. You can hide calories in Settings and track protein and portions instead. If tracking food or your body starts to feel stressful or obsessive, step back from it and talk to someone. The Butterfly Foundation is a good place to start.
Help in Australia

Outside Australia, call your local emergency number. The app shows local equivalents where we have them.
Devices and numbers
Heart rate, sleep, HRV and other device data are estimates from consumer devices and are not medical measurements. When DC suggests a lighter day based on recovery data, it is a suggestion you can dismiss.
